If you have an app or product in the market today, one thing that you should consider is how usable it is.

Is it usable at all? Are the intended users able to perform the tasks that you want them to do? Are they able to accomplish the goals that you want them to accomplish?

You can measure these by tracking efficiency.

In nutshell, efficiency measures how many users of your product are able to accomplish any given task.

To get started, list the three most important tasks that you want your user to perform in your product.

It could be a subscription, it could be making a purchase, or it could be referring a friend.

If you already have the product in the market start with tracking events. You can use tools like Mixpanel, Heap, Google Analytics, etc.

Track each of these events and view them as a funnel. This will give you a clear idea of how many users are able to start and complete tasks.

The ratio that you get of the users who have started the task and the users who are able to fully complete it in a way that you want them to do, gives you an approximate figure of your efficiency number for that particular task.

If you want to increase these numbers, you want to take them up from 40% -50% to about 80% or even higher, analyze the points at which users are dropping off.

Sometimes these are small tweaks that can be made that can have a huge impact on the user experience of the product and is ultimately on the efficiency.

I hope this quick tip has been helpful!
